MEET MICHAEL FREELAND
Ready for adventure. After taking a willful hiatus, I am returning to my roots: Acting. I find myself attracted to projects that explore dark dramatic realism or that are immersed into rich fantasy worlds. In film, this allows me to play in social satire, imaginative crusades, and straight drama. I am also able to continue my passion for Voice Over work ranging from legit commercial, radio, and animation, to playing the redneck voices you’ll find in video games like Red Dead Redemption 2.
I have always taken a shine to the art of storytelling. When it comes to entertainment, there are so many facets in each medium that I find equally compelling and fulfilling. I started in this business in the theatre, and have spent much of my career in producing; I have put on full length plays, short and feature films such as In Between, which premiered at the 2018 Cannes Short Film Corner, and have spent the past 10 years running a successful film festival, The Sparrow Film Project. I am now putting energy into making acting my primary focus.
I currently reside in Astoria, Queens with all the artists and rockstars. If I am not plotting my next project you’ll find me keeping with my roots at neighborhood bars performing David Bowie tributes. Let the children boogie!
